Overall good experience with minor concerns. Would recommend
The staff members have been kind, professional and attentive during the day. At night my husband has called for help using his call button and rarely gets a response. Resulting in a call to the front desk from me in the middle of the night so that he can be attended to. I realize there is a staff shortage however someone should respond when a resident calls. The dining room staff are well meaning but his food is too often served cold. My husband has Parkinson's and is blind. There are no activities in which he can participate resulting in more isolation than what was presented during our initial visit. We had an incident in which the marketing director mislead us by stating something would be done to remove a large, bulky chair blocking a path for my husband to reach the bathroom. She stated the chair belonged to a previous resident and his family would soon remove it. After asking several times when the chair would be removed she finally told us the chair belonged to my husband's roommate. I met with the director and the nurse and they were very open to discussing our concerns. However, we never received an apology for the untruthful behavior by the marketing director.

The best place to have your family treated the way you would treat them!
They have actually taken care of my mom. They have treated her so much better than her previous place ever did! Based on the experience we have had so far with Hawthorn Court at Ahwatukee, we would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

A great community for loved ones
The staff members at Hawthorne Court at Ahwatukee are attentive and very caring. Our loved ones medical needs are always checked on. The community is very clean and it has a very nice overall atmosphere to it.

Family Atmosphere
We picked this community,because there's a certain atmosphere, it was like a familiy, and they were really genuine. They care about my family member. They a have trained chef. My first meal, included egg rolls, and fried. The presentation had a purple flower. It is really nice quality food. I would recommend to other families. They are just amazing.

We Found the Right Place
The community made it an easy transition for our loved one. They took care of all the paperwork for us. They were accommodating with the room and it was very spacious with large windows. They worked well with hospice for us.
There are some really caring aides that really took great care of our loved one. The communication with the staff was really good with the family, and they made sure that we were kept us in the loop.

A very good option
We chose Hawthorn Court because of the friendliness of the marketing staff as well as the price point. We really liked the apartment layout, it has big windows and spacious private bathroom. It does seem like they are diligent about covid containment and have handled that well. I would recommend to others looking.

Great choice for mom
With the covid restrictions it has been hard to see the entire facility. Our loved one is really enjoying the meals, they say her appetite is great. The activities are starting to open back up, they are doing quite a bit more. For this entire month they are doing a themed Bora Bora vacation with a lot of decorations. We get pictures of our loved one in an Hawaiian skirt enjoying her time. This community is so bright and airy, they gave us a set rate that never changes, and they even do the residents laundry in their own washer and dryer so clothes do not get lost or ruined.

Welcoming and supportive Memory Care
This is the second elder care facility my mother has lived in (now at Hawthorn for several years). The fact that it is a dedicated Memory Care facility, where everyone (including all staff) are knowledgeable about dementia in its various stages and forms, and sensitive to the memory-impaired, makes it a warm, supportive, safe, family-oriented place for all residents. The Care Staff has low turnover and high dedication. They are gentle and respectful and maintain a sense of humor. The staff is responsive to family concerns and there is adequate nursing and med-tech support on-site. Importantly, multiple activities are provided daily and include numerous musical guests each week. The home-like environment includes small dining rooms, large living rooms, and other common areas. Residents/families furnish their own rooms as they would at home.

Great Place for Senior Living
My mom has been at Hawthorne for over 2 years! She really enjoys all of the activities scheduled there. We always feel welcome whenever we visit her. Staff is friendly and care about the residents . They schedule many family opportunities to share events such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Fourth of July.

Best Senior Care Facility
The staff is amazing and attentive to our dad and to all the senior residents. The facility is always clean and kept up. They have holiday celebrations and always include the families.
This really is the best memory care facility.
Our grandmother lived here for the last years of her life and was lovingly taken care of.
Now her son, our dad is here and some of the same staff is still here taking care of him.
My husband has great care ?? and I feel confident that he is well taken care of.

They’re accommodating to my Mom’s needs.
We picked this facility for my Mom because it’s small. It’s been a good experience so far. They contain their residents very well, the rooms and hallways are clean, and as far as I can see the food is good. It’s been a good experience. They call me and talk to me anytime there are any issues and have been good about keeping me informed. They have lots of activities available and during the holidays they even threw a Christmas party. When we first moved her in, they allowed us to move her bed and some of her furniture into her room to make her comfortable, which was a big plus for us. We’re still in the midst of getting things worked out but so far it’s been good.

Too Obviously On Lockdown
I toured at Hawthorn Court and I thought that it had a nice, homey feel, but that it was too small. I also feel that it was somehow obvious to the residents as well as visitors that the facility was very much on lockdown. The residents here could not walk around and roam into other wings, and I really wanted a place where my loved one would be able to safely roam with not so many restrictions.
