I placed my father at Sage Oak because I felt he needed more attention than his previous assisted living facility was able to provide. The caregivers are wonderful and are always attentive to the residents' every need. The house is always spotless, my dad is always well groomed and his linens are always clean and fresh. The staff is great about providing updates when I am not there. It is a great comfort to know how well cared for my dad is at Sage Oak.

My husband and I have been pleased with the care his brother has received at Sage Oak. They have ongoing activities to involve the residents, and we really like the weekly medical checks with the nurse on staff. He recently fell and was taken by ambulance to a hospital ER. The nurse kept us informed of the hospital visit - he was checked out and sent back to Sage Oak. They kept us updated. With each house having its own cook/chef, the menu is varied and well prepared. Breakfast and lunch are the main meals With dinner usually being soup or sandwich or something fairly light. The overall upkeep of the house is immaculate.

When it came time for my mom to require full time care, I was referred to Sage Oak by a friend. After our initial tour of the home, I knew it was the best possible place for her. The home is clean and comfortable. Her room was large and quiet. The staff was kind and patient and always kept me updated on her status and needs. They treated her with love and respect. When it came time for my mom to be placed on hospice, they recommended a great nurse that was also lovely to work with. I am forever grateful to Sage Oak for the care they gave my mom at the end of her life and would recommend the home and company to anyone needing a place for a family member.

I’m visiting my dad who lives at Sage Oaks. I love the activities here. We enjoyed a concert by UT Denton music students, made bonsai trees today, Later this week we’re looking forward to flower arranging, Cinco de Mayo accordion music, and a King Charles coronation tea! The food here is fantastic as they have a professional chef on staff as well as cooks who are certified nutritionists. All the staff are super friendly and treat the residents with dignity and courtesy. Love the layout of the cottages. They are bright and airy. My dad can work on walking with his walker without fear of bumping into anyone or falling.. This place is a real gem.

As an industry partner since 2017, I’ve watched Sage Oak grow from a 5 home resident care company in Dallas to fulfilling Loe Hornbuckle’s vision of the next generation in senior living care at their Denton property. Their activity program is doing what many other companies are always “planning” to do. They have a morning exercise that actually happens consistently. The put new experiences on the calendar every month such as “bonsai tree making” to keep their residents minds engaged and stimulated they age in place. Fresh flower making, rides around property in golf carts and more. By investing funds in a true activity director driven program and incentivizing employees to make sure activities happen and are personalized for each resident, they are the real deal. Move your family member to Sage Oak if the most important thing to you is for your loved one to have quality of days, not just quantity of days.

The management and attendants at Sage Oak of Denton are easy to work with, have my husband's best interests at heart, and are exceedingly proactive in finding ways to involve him and improve his abilities and quality of life. They have been diligent in providing him with quality care and medical attention as needed. He is happy there and is looking forward to getting dentures so that he can fully enjoy the chef-prepared meals!

We have visited other facilities and have had our family member in 3 of them. This is the best and most accommodating. Nothing is ever too hard for them to accomplish. The caregivers are efficient and understanding. The meals are prepared by a chef and are excellent.

A caregiver asked a resident where she had lived and about her life events . The resident's excited voice told her story to someone who was interested. A caregiver reviewed my mom’s day. Mom cried about family who had passed. I explained recent events while the caregiver listened carefully. Mom has a need for purpose. The next day, Mom was happy because she was able to help all day and loved it! The caregiver took time to listen to my mom’s story and she figured how to help my mom! The caregiver helps my mom to dress in Christmas clothes which make her happy! To decorate my mom’s room for Christmas, I brought a plain wreath and a tree. Later, I found a Santa Claus added to Mom’s wreath and her tree had beautiful ornaments. Even a Santa hat with a tiara! It was a surprise and made us laugh! A caregiver said there were extra ornaments, so she perked up Mom’s décor. We appreciated her thoughtfulness! These thoughtful caregivers are reasons why Mom and I are glad to be at Sage Oak.

Our friend was a resident of Sage Oak on Forrest Lane, Dallas for almost 4 years. This home was either built or retrofitted specifically with the needs of the elderly and handicapped in mind. The seven guest rooms and ensuite bathrooms are quite large and each guest room is painted and sanitized between residents. The beauty of this facility is that it is small and each resident receives individual attention. The rooms are supplied with a large television and residents provide their own furnishings which brings a touch of home to their rooms. The staff always seemed to be caring and pleasant and helpful. Covid protocols were strict to keep everyone safe and the staff facilitated “window visits” with conversations by phone. It worked well. This assisted living community allowed our friend to live his last years with dignity and comfort in a home like situation, not an institution.

My brother was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor. After hospital and rehab stays for several weeks, we admitted him to Sage Oak—Aberdeen. Prior to choosing Sage Oak, my husband and I visited four other assisted-living facilities/homes. Sage Oak was the last of those, and we were so pleased that we had persisted long enough to visit Sage Oak, which we believed would be the perfect fit for my brother. The staff at Sage Oak--Aberdeen were so kind, caring, knowledgeable, and experienced. They had such a great sense of humor and could relate and communicate well with my brother. Sage Oak has a director of nursing and a visiting doctor and nurse practitioner who see residents at least weekly. I felt my brother would have good medical care. My husband and I strongly recommend Sage Oak for its professional introduction to the homes, its beliefs about how to treat residents, its employment of competent staff, and its commitment to genuine care for its residents.

Due to the restrictions we were not really able to go inside the community that much, but when we were able to it was very clean. The staff members were extremely friendly and the management was so accommodating and attentive. Our loved one really enjoyed the meals, and they did have activities for the residents. We liked that on nice days they would take the residents outside. It was just such a nice communiyt, we loved it.

My almost 94-year old mother has been a resident at a Sage Oak location for about 6 months. We have had a wonderful experience with the management, care-givers, and facility. It is truly a boutique residential assisted living plus facility. The care-givers have a servant heart for the residents and the management team is super-responsive to requests and questions. The food quality greatly exceeds the more industrial arrangements of many assisted living facilities. Operating an assisted living plus facility under normal conditions has its own unique challenges, but Sage Oak has done a phenomenal job with the added challenges imposed by Covid. I would highly recommend anyone needing AL or AL plus care for their loved one to consider Sage Oak.

[name removed] and the care team at Preston Hollow Sage Oak are truly angels on earth. It was so difficult finding the right fit for my Dad. We had to move him 3 times due to poor care, staff neglect, and a number of other issues. It was so relieving to find the perfect place where my Dad could live out his remaining days and go peacefully in a place he was comfortable. The Preston Hollow home is architecturally designed and had wide open space for my Dads scooter. He loved the freedom of going outside and admired the stonework, something he and my mom did by hand at their home. I only wish we had found it sooner. I highly recommend [name removed] and his care team.

Making the decision to move mom out of her house was difficult. We knew she couldn't stay on her own but we couldn't afford 24 hr care at the house. Hospice recommended a group home living situation and gave us some names to begin our search. After visits to several homes, I happened to call Sage Oak and talked to [name removed], one of the residence managers. She was friendly, understanding, yet professional and to the point. We arranged a visit and that was when I experienced real hope. The home is in a great neighborhood. It was open, spacious with a well- tended outdoor area and clean. The individual rooms were ordered with individual touches, neat and clean. The residents were up and about and were obviously well cared for. [name removed] introduced me to the staff who were also personable, friendly, courteous, attentive and knowledgeable. They were able to talk to me and keep an eye on the patients while not appearing rushed. This was the place we had been looking for! Mom's experience was a good one and the care givers were were always kind and helpful to her and to us when we came to visit. It was ok for us to be there to visit at any time or to talk on the phone when we or mom wanted to chat. Thanks to everyone (you know who you are) for making mom's last days as good as they were. To anyone else reading this, mom passed away 3 weeks ago after a run of 101 full years. I know how difficult and stressful end-of-days elder care can be for the family. Sage Oak-Aberdeen gave us many reasons to feel good about the decisions we made.

Caregivers are outstanding with an excellent 5:1 ratio in memory care. Everyone is patient and kind. There are shows and games. Do wish they put out a schedule of activities by email since would love spending time enjoying the activities with Dad. Wish they had a van to take residents out to nearby activities.
